Biden’s ‘Bleak’ Legacy Set In American Minds, Studies Find

An AP-NORC poll shared Friday (Jan 10) revealed that one in five Americans think President Joe Biden kept his campaign promises while in office, a “bleak” result for the outgoing leader, with Gallup finding his reputation similar to that of former President Richard Nixon following the Watergate scandal.
The results revealed Americans have a far dimmer view of Biden as he leaves office than they did of President-elect Donald Trump or former President Barack Obama’s final term, according to The Associated Press. “It’s a stark illustration of how tarnished Biden’s legacy has become, with many members of his own party seeing his Democratic presidency as merely mediocre,” the outlet wrote in their own analysis.
Americans are expected to judge Biden’s time in office unfavorably, with roughly 54% of U.S. adults believing history will remember him as a “below average” leader, or “poor” president, Gallup found.

Biden By Numbers
Only 1 in 10 described Biden’s presidency as “great,” when asked by AP. Four in 10 called it “good,” roughly the same number of people who called it “average.” His reputation certainly declined overtime, with people initially viewing him positively. By the end of 2022, this changed drastically. (RELATED: Schumer Blames Voters For Not Realizing ‘How Much’ Dems Did)

Worse Off?
“At least half of Americans said Biden had a negative impact on the cost of living, immigration and the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians — compared with about 2 in 10 who said he had a positive impact in each of these arenas,” the outlet stated.
Biden was also seen to have had a negative impact on Russia’s war with Ukraine, even though he sent billions upon billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars toward funding it, AP intimated. (RELATED: Biden Admin New Overreach Targets Checking Accounts)
Most Americans feel that the country is in worse shape than when Biden initially took office in 2020. Young people held a particularly negative view of Biden, with roughly 6 in 10 Americans between the ages of 18 to 29 saying Biden was a “poor” or “terrible” president, AP added. One in four families also reported being worse off under the Biden administration. Are you one of those families or people? Tell us today, because we’re here to help you.
