Drafting Women Might Become US Reality Soon

Jun 24, 2024

An article published in June by the Washington Stand detailed how an amendment within the current draft of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) would require women to join men in registering for Selective Service.

If the amendment to the Military Selective Service Act makes its way through the NDAA, the government will be able to conscript both sexes within a military draft. Another provision within the draft would automatically force young people to enroll in Selective Service. (LEARN MORE: Billionaire Dem Donor Weighs US Radio Purchase)

“If these two provisions come together and stay in the bill until the end, in the final version, what you would have is both young men and women, 18-to-26 years old, automatically being registered with Selective Service,” Freedom Alliance president Tom Kilgannon told Washington Watch with Tony Perkins. He added that many women “would not even know that they are signed up for the draft until they get that draft notice.”

Majority Of Americans Opposed The Draft

“Polls show the majority of Americans — and the overwhelming majority of women — oppose drafting girls in their teens or twenties into combat. Only 45% of Americans favored female conscription in a 2021 Ipsos poll. A bare majority of men (55%) were inclined to force women into military service, while only 36% of women agreed. Support for drafting women fell a whopping 18 points between 2016 and 2021,” the Washington Stand wrote in their analysis. (LEARN MORE: Supreme Court To Hear Ultimate Free Speech, Censorship Case)

The Left Need To ‘Leave Our Daughters Alone’

“Normal people are like, ‘Leave our daughters alone,’” Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley told Fox of the situation. Perkins reiterated this sentiment, saying that ““This has become one of those reoccurring issues on the Left that never goes away … They never drop it. They just keep doing it until they [get their way]. It’s kind of like a kid pestering his parents until he wears them out.”

As Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee said, “real men don’t draft women.” Kilgannon explained that “You’ve got two main ways that Selective Service signs young men up. One is through the applications for driver’s licenses at the state level. The number of young men aged 16-to-19 who are getting driver’s licenses has declined from 64% to 40% in the last 25 years.” (LEARN MORE: Biden Ignores Christian Massacres For 3rd Year In A Row)

“The other main way that registration with Selective Service is done is through federal financial aid. And over the last 10 years, you have one million fewer young men who are going to college,” he added. But compelling women to fight is far from the answer.  “Young women will no longer be vessels for new life. They will be instruments of war. And that’s not the way our society has typically adjudicated this issue,” Kilgannon concluded.
