In 2020, voters in Connecticut will elect five candidates to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from each of the state’s five congressional districts. Voters will be selecting candidates for the Connecticut State Senate and Connecticut State House of Representatives. **The Connecticut presidential primary election has been moved to June 2, due to the COVID-19 situation.

Important dates to remember: 

  • (NEW DATE) June 2, 2020: Presidential Preference Election
      • May 28: Mailed voter registration deadline (postmarked)
      • April 27: In-person voter registration deadline 
  • August 11, 2020: State Primary Election
  • November 3, 2020: General Election

Online voter registration is permitted in Connecticut.  Voters can also submit a paper registration form in person or by mail to the voter registrar in their county of residence.  Same-day registration is available in Connecticut for general elections, though not for primary elections. Your vote is valuable to the state and makes a difference!
