In 2020, voters in Hawaii will elect two candidates to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from each of the state’s two congressional districts. In addition, voters will be selecting candidates for the Hawaii State Senate and Hawaii State House of Representatives.  **The Hawaii presidential primary election has been moved to May 22, due to the COVID-19 situation. The state will now be voting entirely by mail.

Important dates to remember: 

  • (NEW DATE) May 22, 2020: Presidential Primary Election
    • April 4: Voter registration deadline
  • August 8, 2020: State Primary Election
    • July 9: Voter registration deadline
    • July 27 –  August 7: Early voting
  • November 3, 2020: General Election 
    • October 5: Voter registration deadline
    • October 20 – November 2: Early voting

Every properly registered voter in Hawaii will be receiving a ballot by mail approximately 18 days before Election Day. Online voter registration is permitted in Hawaii. Voters can also submit a paper registration form in person or by mail to the voter registrar in their county of residence. Your vote is valuable to the state and makes a difference!
