In 2020, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s (D) seat will be up for re-election, along with two U.S. House seats. New Hampshire voters will vote for governor (incumbent, Chris Sunun (R), has announced that he will run for re-election). Both State Senate and State House seats will also be announced and decided in the 2020 election. The New Hampshire primary election will be held September 8th.

New Hampshire voters may register through Election Day. Online registration is not permitted. Voters must present photo identification at the polls. If a voter is unable to present a valid form of identification, a poll worker will take a photo of the voter and attach it to an affidavit, which must be signed by the voter. Exceptions are provided for those who object to being photographed for religious reasons. In 2016, the outcome of the presidential election in New Hampshire was decided by only .37%.
