GOP May ‘Withhold All Funding’ From WHO Over Abortion

House Republicans warned the World Health Organization (WHO) that they and the rest of the U.S. may “withhold all funding to the organization” if its members decide to grant a special partnership with a global abortion lobbying group.

The unelected individuals who make up WHO proposed in December that they partner with the Center for Reproductive Rights (CCR), a well-funded U.S. non-governmental organization (NGO) that tries to destroy pro-life laws on local, state, federal, and an international level, according to the Washington Stand. WHO will decide whether to partner with CCR in enhanced “official relations” in early June.

If WHO members approve the partnership, then a plan will be drawn up for their collaboration with “agreed objectives and outlines activities for the coming three-year period.” (LEARN MORE: Biden To ‘Sign Away’ US Powers To World Health Organization)

Congress Tells WHO How We Feel

“The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) is a radical organization that manipulates international mechanisms to impose abortion on countries,” 26 different members of Congress wrote in a letter to WHO’s executive board members in May. The letter notes that “there is no internationally recognized human rights obligation with regard to abortion either by treaty or customary international law.”

Two international conferences in Cairo (1994) and Beijing (1995) both ended with members agreeing that “In no case should abortion be promoted as a method of family planning.”

“This is part of CRR’s well-documented scheme to impose abortion on all countries, undermining sovereignty and bypassing all democratic processes,” the House Republicans continued in their letter. Their statements come amid rising global tensions between the U.S. government and unelected WHO members over a pandemic treaty that could utterly eradicate U.S. sovereignty.
