Italian PM Meloni Tells Trump: Together We Can Rebuild Western Civilization

President Donald Trump hosted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House on Thursday for a bilateral meeting and working lunch focused on strengthening ties between the United States and Italy, as well as reaffirming a shared commitment to revitalizing Western civilization.
During a joint press appearance in the Oval Office following their meeting, Meloni expressed a strong sense of partnership with President Trump, saying the two leaders share a vision for restoring the strength and influence of the West.
“I know that when I speak about [the] West mainly, I don’t speak about a geographical space. I speak about the civilization, and I want to make that civilization stronger,” Meloni said. “So I think even if we have some problems, okay, between the two shores of the Atlantic, it is the time that we try to sit down and find solutions.”
