An image shared on social media in mid-June revealed Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw’s amazingly peaceful reminder that the rainbow is a sign of God’s covenant, and has nothing to do with people being gay.

Genesis 9:12-17

12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 Then God said to Noah, “Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.””

Kershaw’s Peaceful Protest Against Gay Pride?

Kershaw went viral on social media following Friday’s game against the San Francisco Giants, according to Fox. Many people felt overwhelmed with joy at seeing him say something so powerful without having to say anything at all.

This is not the first time Kershaw has used his faith within his career. In 2023, he protested the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence behaviors prior to the team’s Pride Night, purely over the group’s disgusting mockery of Christian faith. “I don’t agree with making fun of other people’s religions,” Kershaw said at the time. “”It has nothing to do with anything other than that. I just don’t think that, no matter what religion you are, you should make fun of somebody else’s religion. So, that’s something that I definitely don’t agree with.”

What Is Pride Night?

For some reason, the Dodgers and a handful of other teams feel the need to celebrate the small minority of very loud Americans who need everyone to know their sexual preferences and behaviors. As baseball is a family sport, it is unclear why the MLB teams feel the need to bring these lifestyles to their fans, especially when it has nothing to do with the sport, and only to do with what people choose in the privacy of their own homes.

Most people believe that those teams who push for Pride Night, and other exclusively sexual celebrations, are simply hoping to make money off the gay community. (RELATED: Seattle Mayor Appears To Blame Christians For Being Violently Attacked)

Following the backlash in 2023, the Dodgers announced they’d be hosting a Christian Faith and Family Day for the time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, Fox added. At the time of writing, the Dodgers have not updated their site to let members know when the next Faith Night will be.

Contact Your Reps To Protect America’s Future

It seems like every time we at Million Voices speak to lawmakers and their teams, they all tell us the same thing: if just 10 people in their district write them letters about issues that matter to them, they know they have a serious crisis on their hands. A thousand people could message that same lawmaker via email or social media, and it would mean nothing. But hand-written, or even printed and signed letters, will make your politicians take action (if they really care about your vote, that is).

Contacting your representatives should be easy, but there are myriad ways they can ignore your messages. That’s where we come in.

Yes, Million Voices helps you with voter guides. Yes, we send letters from YOU directly to your elected officials because it’s the only way to guarantee they’ll listen to you. Yes, we publish data, articles, text messages, and help bridge the gap between education and civic action. But what do you want? Tell us today.

We want to make YOU the hero of our American story by giving you the tools you need to make a difference, from your local, state, all the way up to the federal level.

Join us in our mission to advocate for religious freedom, support fair and secure elections, and uphold the values that this great nation was built upon. Tell us what you want from the next four years, and we will fight to make it a reality … again!
