Olympics Disrespect Christianity In Opening
The organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympic ceremony seemed happy after their disrespectful display to Christians ended in hurt, uproar, and total confusion.
The Olympic 2024 opening ceremony organizers decided to feature their interpretation of da Vinci’s The Last Supper, acted out by men dressed in women’s clothing, displaying their genitalia, and overall disrespecting Christians and the Olympic tradition. “Clearly there was never an intention to show disrespect to any religious group. (The opening ceremony) tried to celebrate community tolerance,” 2024 Paris spokesman Anne Descamps said following the uproar, according to Fox.
“We believe this ambition was achieved. If people have taken any offense, we are really sorry,” Deschamps continued, ignoring the countless people who took to social media to share their hurt at the display.
The World Reacts
“This is crazy. Opening your event by replacing Jesus and the disciples at the Last Supper with men in drag. There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth and apparently the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right out of the gate,” said Clint Russell on social media.
“Olympic Committee banned a Brazilian surfer from using his surfboards because they have the statute of Jesus on them,” said Eli David. “Only mocking Jesus is allowed in the Olympics.”
“Barbara Butch is the evil woman who insultingly depicted Jesus in the Olympic 2024 opening ceremony in Paris on Friday,” claimed Paul A. Szypula. “Sponsors have already started pulling out following the performance which insulted billions of Christians globally.” (LEARN MORE: Who Is J.D. Vance, Trump’s Vice Presidential Pick?)
Paris Experiences Power Outage, Chaos
Paris reportedly suffered a power outage following the opening, Outkick reported. People were quick to connect the outage to the activities at the opening ceremony, despite no direct obvious correlation.
Apparently other chaos plaguing the events include torrential rain, which dampened the water quality in the Seine. People haven’t been able to swim in the river for more than a century because it was so filthy, but the city decided to be able to clean it for the games.
There were also arson attacks along almost all of France’s major rail systems ahead of the opening day, as well as food issues in the Olympic village. (LEARN MORE: Assassination Is ‘First Political Memory’ For Many Gen Z)
