Shroud Of Turin Reveals New Link To Christ

Analysis of the materials on the Shroud of Turin reveal they’re consistent with the description of torture and the crucifixion of Christ, according to a study published in the journal Archives of Hematology Case Reports and Reviews.

The paper uses macroscopic and microscopic detail on the blood stains on the Shroud, which reflects “the physical conditions relating to Jesus Christ,” says author Giulio Fanti, adding that the wounds are “consistent with the description of Jesus Christ in the holy Bible and, in particular, within the four canonical Gospels.”

Analysis shows the imprints made on the 14 by 4-foot cloth were made by real human materials, such as blood, and not from ink, dyes or other types of paints. The study further dismissed claims  the Shroud is a Medieval forgery, citing material use typical of ancient Jerusalem.

What Else Did The Study Find?

“[N]umerous bloodstains scattered throughout the double body image of the HST show evidence that Jesus of the HST was tortured,” the study states. “Bloodstained marks all over the body image which are consistent with pre-crucifixion flagellation, bloodstained marks on the head that are consistent with a ‘crown’ of thorns, blood marks on the hand and feet that are consistent with crucifixion and the bloodstain on the chest that evidences a post-mortem wound that corresponds with the post-mortem spear wound that Christ received as is described in the Bible.”
