Arkansas state Senate approved a bill Monday allowing gold and silver to be stored in a state depository, and to be used to back electronic transactions.
Arkansas may become the first state to officially accept gold and silver as a form of electronic state currency, according to Just The News. The Senate passed HB 1918 in a 33-0 vote, with one member voting present and another being excused. The bill will now move to the desk of Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and she is expected to sign it into law.
Similar laws are being considered in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, giving all state residents the potential option to back their digital money with physical means. (DEVOTION: Gold: God’s Currency)
The move from Arkansas comes just two weeks after Utah Gov. Spencer Cox vetoed HB306, which would have enabled the state to pay vendors using gold should the vendor request, according to the SLC Tribune. Utah has roughly $60 million worth of gold and is on track for an emergency fund worth $140 million in precious metals.
Why Does This Matter?
Data suggest that upwards of 90% of the world’s money doesn’t actually exist in any tangible form. All those numbers flying around our bank account screens are pretty much just theoretical. This might scare some people, but for others, it can bring some peace. If you’ve ever wondered how someone like Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg is so wealthy, just remember that if all the computers turned off, they’d not only be completely broke, but they’d probably lack a lot of life skills to survive — this is what happens when we pay other people to do basic jobs we can do ourselves.
From our Million Voices Devotion:
The King James Version of the Bible mentions gold 417 times, and 22 times in Revelation alone, indicating its importance. This God-made currency will play a significant role in the end times. For many, it is presently a preferred accrued wealth for maintaining its value compared to our fiat currency backed by the government. (MORE NEWS: Has MAHA Made A Difference? The Answer May Surprise You)
When President Nixon abandoned the gold standard in 1971, paper money lost 87% of its value! Considering investments in precious metals is very wise and minimizes (even eliminates) the federal government’s control of our currency. When we protect assets from inflation, we are putting commerce control back into the hands of “We the People.”
Contact Your Reps To Protect America’s Future
It seems like every time we at Million Voices speak to lawmakers and their teams, they all tell us the same thing: if just 10 people in their district write them letters about issues that matter to them, they know they have a serious crisis on their hands. A thousand people could message that same lawmaker via email or social media, and it would mean nothing. But hand-written, or even printed and signed letters, will make your politicians take action (if they really care about your vote, that is).
Contacting your representatives should be easy, but there are myriad ways they can ignore your messages. That’s where we come in.
Yes, Million Voices helps you with voter guides. Yes, we send letters from YOU directly to your elected officials because it’s the only way to guarantee they’ll listen to you. Yes, we publish data, articles, text messages, and help bridge the gap between education and civic action. But what do you want? Tell us today.
We want to make YOU the hero of our American story by giving you the tools you need to make a difference, from your local, state, all the way up to the federal level.
