Vance Explains Why He Thinks Harris Is ‘Ineffective’

Daily Caller editorial director Vince Coglianese spoke to vice presidential candidate, Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance in October about his strategy for his recent debate against his opponent, Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

“J.D. Vance’s performance today was not built to convince me. I’m already convinced,” Coglianese said he felt following the vice presidential debate. “What was the strategy last week?” he asked of Vance, in a clip of their conversation shared on X. “You kind of hit the nail on the head. I was trying to convince people who weren’t fully aware of how radical and incompetent Kamala Harris’ time in government has been. I kind of went into this thing like, ‘I could attack him also over his record, over his misrepresentations, over, you know, the tampons and the boys bathrooms or any number of other crazy things that he’s done,'” explained Vance.

On Kamala …

“But I realized most Americans still don’t have a strong view of Kamala Harris,” he continued. “So why not use my opportunity to talk about her record to criticize the way that she has actually run the administration of the last three and a half years; to criticize her for the open border, for casting, the tiebreaking vote on trillions of dollars of new spending, just really to introduce to the American people why I think Kamala Harris has been so ineffective and why Donald Trump’s time in office was much better when it comes to things, like a secure border and rising take-home pay. “And so, I kind of just ignored Tim Walz and to the extent that, you know, he and I took, you obviously I had to respond to some of the points that he made and there are some issues out there where actually I think he is more reasonable than she is and so I can, I tried to use that to high how radical she was,” he concluded.
