Veteran’s Day 2024: Honoring Those Who Protect Us
Today is Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, 2024.
Today is to honor those who’ve fought and continue to fight to protect America. While observe the historical significance of Armistice Day, the end of hostilities in the First World War, on this date in 1918, we also mourn those who laid down their lives so we might continue to live our own.
We are asking everything to pray for our veterans, today and every day.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod & thy staff, they comfort me.” ~ Psalm 23:4.
Military & Faith
An op-ed written by Rachel Smith for the Center for Faith & Culture detailed what she learned from military families about faithfulness. We loved her message, so wanted to share some of it with you today. You can click here to read Rachel’s full story.
“Military members are quick to create friendships. Since their time is usually limited in any specific place, they quickly move past surface-level conversations that generally happen when making friendships. This careful yet quick friendship development teaches believers the importance of deep community rather than superficial acquaintanceships,” wrote Smith. These families also kept Christ central, even when they were around people from different cultural or religious backgrounds. In this way, and many others, military personnel and their families are eager to serve the Church.
