2024: Embracing All It Holds for You
“Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning” (Lamentations 3:23).
The beginning of a new year is a time filled with hope and anticipation for what the future will bring. For many, it is also a time of renewal within their lives, relationships, and faith. Let us embrace this time not just as a chronological milestone, but as a spiritual rekindling that brings us a more meaningful, peaceful life.
The new year invites us to pause after the holiday haste and turn our attention towards Jesus, assessing our daily lives and actions. It offers a reminder to embrace compassion, forgiveness, and thankfulness as we consider the mark Jesus has made on our lives and how He demonstrated these qualities during His time on earth.
Reverand Billy Graham once said, “The most important resolution you can make as another year approaches is this: to open your heart and life to Jesus Christ, and commit your life to Him. Don’t waste your time on resolutions that don’t ultimately matter; resolve instead to live for Christ.”
Your Call to Action
As we celebrate the new year, take a moment to pause and reflect on who Jesus is. Think about all He has done and ask Him to help you have an open heart and open mind for the plans He has for you. Give thanks to Him and remain hopeful for all the blessings this year will bring.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10).
“God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
“You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance” (Psalm 65:11).
Prayer
Dear God, we thank You for another year. May it be filled with blessings as we follow Your Son’s example for our lives. Help us put You first in all we do and in every decision we make this year. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Comforting Closure
In 2024, let us not be daunted by challenges around us, but instead draw strength from Jesus to propel us forward into great things! God has a plan for this year and a plan for you.
