Tim Walz Controversies Outlined By Christian Media

A series of controversial situations involving Kamala Harris’s choice for vice president in her run for the Oval Office, Tim Walz, were brought to light by the Christian Post in August.

“Reflecting the political polarization in American politics, Walz’s addition to the Democratic ticket has received a warm reception on the political left, while those on the political right have cited the new development in the 2024 presidential election as another reason not to support Harris,” the outlet wrote.

Driving Under the Influence

Walz was arrested in 1995 for driving under the influence in Dawes County, Nebraska, while he was a 31-year-old football coach and teacher, The Christian Post explained. A state trooper’s report says Walz was pulled over for going 96 mph in a 55 mph zone, and was described as having “a strong odor of alcoholic beverage” coming from his breath.

He failed both a breathalyzer and a field sobriety test. He was later booked into Dawes County Jail. He pled guilty to reckless driving and paid a $200 fine for his actions as part of a plea agreement.

However, Walz campaign said that the DUI was not what it sounded like. “Walz was hard of hearing, a result of his years as an artillery soldier in the Army National Guard, and had trouble hearing the trooper,” Walz communication director Meredith Salsbery said in a 2006 interview, despite this being untrue when compared to official documentation. He Put Tampons In Boys Bathrooms

Walz signed a bill in 2023 that put tampons in boys bathrooms and gave them access to menstrual products, even though boys and all males have absolutely no physical need for any type of menstruation product. (LEARN MORE: Catholic Bishops Issue Statement About Trans Medicine)

“A school district or charter school must provide students with access to menstrual products at no charge,” the legislation reads, clarifying that “the products must be available to all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12 according to a plan developed by the school district.”

He Seems Pro-Socialism

Fox News reported in early August that socialists see Walz as a “great asset” and are thrilled he is the VP pick for the Harris campaign. “the products must be available to all menstruating students in restrooms regularly used by students in grades 4 to 12 according to a plan developed by the school district,” Democratic Socialists for America said following Walz nomination.

Walz Appointees Are Progressive

“The Minnesota Professional Educators Licensing and Standards Board, which consists of members appointed by Walz, implemented a new set of rules related to licensing and academic standards for teachers in the state,” the Christian Post said in their reportage. Under these new rules, “opportunities for students to learn about power, privilege, intersectionality, and systemic oppression in the context of various communities” are presented. Teachers are also required to militarize their approach, forcing students to be “agents of social change to promote equity,” while understanding “the diverse impacts of individual and systemic trauma” including “racism, and micro and macro aggressions, on learning and development” in addition to embracing “culturally responsive strategies and resources to address these impacts.”
