RNC Investigates Suspected Election Fraud After X Post Goes Viral

A photograph went viral Friday (Oct. 25) that appeared to show a stack of boxes labelled “voted ballots” outside a North Carolina courthouse.

“This is what election security looks like in Guilford County NC today. Boxes marked “voted ballots” piled up outside courthouse door entirely unattended,” wrote journalist Charlie Hurt in a post shared on X. The image shows six cardboard boxes that appear to read “voted ballots” in big red font. The post was viewed almost 2 million times (at the time of writing) and acknowledged by RNC co-chair Lara Trump, daughter-in-law to the former President.

RNC’s Investigation

“Thank you for flagging this, [Charles Hurt]! We had the RNC’s legal team investigate this on the ground in North Carolina. We have confirmed that these are empty boxes about to be sent to a polling location to be filled — NOT completed ballots,” wrote Trump in an X post. “If these boxes contained votes, they would have tamper-proof seals and be inside a sealed bag.” Trump told her followers to “stay vigilant and go VOTE!”

The situation comes just days after X CEO, technology billionaire Elon Musk told X users to report all suspected cases of election fraud throughout the 2024 Election cycle. (MORE: John Graves Joins Flyover Conservatives To Share Epic News)

“Back in 2020, a lot of people saw something,” an audience member told Musk, referring to alleged instances of voter and election fraud throughout the U.S. At an earlier town hall, Musk had urged people to “say something” if they suspect voter or election fraud. Even though people did report these situations in 2020, the woman noted how seemingly none of the cases made it to a judge. “Cases were never heard. What I wanna know, is there anything Republicans [are] doing right now that is [going to be done] differently?” She continued, such as “actively” trying to protect our elections and freedom in America.
