NCAA Runner Exposes the Spiritual War Over Gender in Sports

We often look at the news and see court cases, laws, and arguments. It is easy to think these are just political fights between two different sides. But if we look closer, we can see something much deeper happening right in front of us.

A brave NCAA athlete recently spoke out about the issue of biological males competing in women’s sports. She made it clear that this isn’t just about trophies or scholarships. She reminded us that we are in a spiritual battle for truth and reality.

Ainsley Erzen, a runner for the University of Arkansas, stood on the steps of the Supreme Court Docket to share her heart. While lawyers argued about rules inside the building, she spoke about what is happening to our culture. She said very clearly that we are dealing with something far bigger than sports.

She explained that the confusion we see today is actually a rejection of God’s design. When we ignore the way God made us, we end up with chaos and hurt. This is why she stood up to speak the truth in love.

Erzen believes that what looks like a policy debate is actually a fight for the soul of our nation. She is calling on believers to wake up and see the real issue. It is not just about fairness in a race; it is about honoring the Creator.

It’s Not Political, It’s Spiritual

Many people want to make this issue about left versus right or one party versus another. But Erzen cut through all that noise with a powerful statement. She said, “It’s not political, it’s spiritual,” reminding us that our true battle is not against flesh and blood.

When society celebrates things that go against God’s word, it creates deep pain and confusion. We are seeing a generation that is being told they can define their own reality. This leads to brokenness because we cannot change the truth of who God made us to be.

The Bible tells us that God created them male and female. This is a foundational truth that our culture is trying to erase. When we stand up for this truth, we are shining a light into the darkness.

The issue of biological males in women’s sports is a symptom of a much larger problem. It shows us that many people have lost their understanding of the truth. They are trading the truth of God for a lie, just as Scripture warned us would happen.

Erzen pointed out that this sexual confusion is harming young people the most. They are being told that their feelings matter more than biological reality. This is a spiritual deception that keeps people from knowing their true identity in Christ.

As Christians, we cannot stay silent when we see this kind of deception spreading. We have to speak up, not to win an argument, but to point people back to God. Our motivation must be love for our neighbors and a desire to see them walk in the truth.

This spiritual battle requires us to be brave and steadfast. We need to pray for those who are confused and hurting. And we need to support courageous voices like Ainsley Erzen who are willing to stand alone if necessary.

Returning to Natural Law and God’s Design

To understand why this matters so much, we have to look at natural law. This is the idea that there are certain truths built into the world by God that everyone can see. One of these truths is the clear difference between men and women.

For thousands of years, people understood that men and women are different and that these differences are significant and unchanging. It wasn’t until recently that society started to pretend these differences don’t exist. This denial of reality is dangerous because it goes against how the world actually works.

When we ignore natural law, we end up with injustice. In this case, women and girls are losing out on opportunities they worked hard for. They are being forced to compete against biological males who have physical advantages that cannot be erased.

This injustice happens because we have turned away from God’s design. We have allowed gender dysphoria to become an identity rather than a struggle that needs compassion and truth. We must love those who struggle, but love does not mean agreeing with a lie.

Real love rejoices in the truth. It helps people embrace the body God gave them instead of fighting against it. The church needs to be a place where clarity and compassion go hand in hand.

The Supreme Court case may be over, but the spiritual work is just beginning. We must continue to teach our children the value of God’s design. We must protect the spaces where girls can thrive and compete fairly.

If we stay silent, the confusion will only grow stronger. But if we speak up with grace and truth, we can help restore sanity to our culture. This is our moment to be salt and light in a world that desperately needs it.

Let us stand with those who are defending truth in the public square. Let us pray that eyes will be opened to the spiritual reality behind these cultural debates. And let us never forget that God’s truth remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.
