Abortion Ties Exposed in Christian Colleges Report

When parents send their children to a Christian university, they expect an environment that upholds biblical values. They assume their tuition dollars are supporting an education rooted in the Gospel and the sanctity of life. Tragically, a new report reveals that for many families, this trust is being broken.

The Students for Life of America (SFLA) Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement recently released findings that should shock every believer. The study discovered that Christian colleges are increasingly partnering with the abortion industry. This is a wake-up call for the church to stand firm and protect our young people.

According to the data, 1 in 7 Christian colleges maintained ties to the abortion industry during the 2024-2025 school year. These are institutions that publicly claim the name of Jesus while privately directing students toward Planned Parenthood. It is a spiritual compromise that we cannot ignore.

The report highlights a disturbing trend that has accelerated rapidly in recent years. Since the reversal of Roe v. Wade, abortion advocates have targeted college campuses with renewed intensity. The statistics show that their efforts are working even in religious spaces.

Support for abortion at these schools has increased by a staggering 38.63% since 2024. This is not just a slow drift away from biblical truth; it is a landslide. Christian administrators are allowing the culture of death to invade spaces dedicated to the Author of Life.

Many of these infractions involve listing Planned Parenthood as a trusted health resource for students. Instead of offering life-affirming alternatives or support for pregnant students, these schools point them toward abortion vendors. This is a direct violation of the commandment to love our neighbors and protect the innocent.

We must face this reality with courage and a willingness to speak the truth. If we want to abolish abortion in our nation, we must first ensure our own institutions are not promoting it. The church cannot effectively fight for life in the public square if we are funding its destruction in our own classrooms.

Identifying the Compromised Institutions

The report does not just provide vague statistics; it names specific schools that are failing to live up to their Christian identity. It grades institutions on an A-to-F scale based on their relationship with the abortion industry. Schools with four or more infractions received a failing grade.

One of the worst offenders identified in the study is American University in Washington, D.C.. Although founded by Methodists, the school tallied 34 infractions, including an alternative spring break program focused on “reproductive health.” Their antiracism center even criticizes states that have moved to protect the unborn.

Other prominent schools have also been called out for their betrayal of Christian values. Duke University and Southern Methodist University (SMU) were listed among the failing schools. SMU, for example, dedicated an entire webpage to resources that link directly to Planned Parenthood affiliates.

Villanova University, a well-known Catholic institution, also received a failing grade in the report. Despite the Catholic Church’s clear stance on the sanctity of life, the school promoted pro-abortion groups on its career pages. This disconnect between stated belief and campus practice creates confusion for students who are still forming their worldview.

The study found that over one-fourth of all infractions involved referring students to Planned Parenthood as a “health resource.” This creates a dangerous pipeline from Christian dorm rooms to abortion clinics. It validates an industry that profits from ending human lives, all under the guise of student wellness.

We cannot remain silent while institutions bearing the name of Christ partner with those who destroy God’s creation. Biblical stewardship requires us to hold these organizations accountable for their actions. We must demand that they align their policies with the Scripture they claim to follow.

Parents and donors hold significant power in this equation. You have a voice, and you must use it to protect the next generation. If a school refuses to cut ties with the abortion industry, the school should not receive support from faithful Christians.

A Call for Accountability and Action

Despite the grim statistics, there is hope and evidence that pushback works. The report noted that 50 ties between Christian schools and the abortion industry were severed this year. This proves that when light is shed on darkness, change happens.

Specific victories were highlighted in the report, showing that pressure from believers yields results. Abilene Christian University removed Planned Parenthood as an internship opportunity. Similarly, St. Mary’s University of Minnesota removed the abortion vendor from its career services webpage.

These wins demonstrate that we are not helpless in this fight. When we speak up and demand consistency, administrators are forced to choose between their Christian witness and their secular partnerships. We must press on until every Christian college is a safe haven for the unborn.

The report also celebrated 66 schools that earned an A+ rating. These institutions did not just avoid infractions; they actively promoted pro-life pregnancy centers. We should champion and support these schools for standing firm in a culture that often demands compromise.

However, the battle is far from over, and urgency is required. The fact that abortion support has risen so sharply since 2024 indicates a spiritual battle for the soul of our institutions. We cannot be passive spectators while the enemy sows confusion among our youth.

Every Christian has a role to play in this movement for life. You can check the SFLA map to see if your alma mater is on the list. If they are compromising, contact them and respectfully demand that they introduce measures that protect unborn life on campus immediately.

If you are a parent, research schools thoroughly before sending your child away. Look past the mission statement and investigate the health resources and internship programs. Ensure that the college you choose will partner with you in discipling your student, not working against you.

Our nation is at a crossroads, and the church must lead the way in defending the vulnerable. We must be the voice for the voiceless, starting within our own communities. Let us unite to purify our institutions and ensure they stand as beacons of life and truth.

The time for complacency is over; the time for action is now. Together, we can turn the tide and restore the sanctity of life to Christian higher education. Your voice matters in this fight. Use it to glorify God and protect the innocent.
