“Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone” (Psalm 33:22).

Hope may seem in short supply, but it is actually quite abundant! Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” THIS is the nourishment our souls need! Our hope comes from God above—it is ours to accept! As believers, our abundant hope comes from the PROMISE of eternal life offered to us through Jesus, His active presence in our lives, and the knowledge that God is always with us. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).

God has repeatedly proven that we can trust and believe in Him. “The Lord always keeps his promises; He is gracious in all He does” (Psalm 145:13). His love is ever- present; it does not falter or waiver. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Every time we see the sun rise or set, we see the mountains or the ocean, or we hear a heartbeat, we are reminded of His sovereignty and His love for us. Wherever there is the breath of life, there is God. He is here, giving us the gift of hope; in that, we have peace!

“We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently” (Romans 8:24-25).

“Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying” (Romans 12:12).

“I say to myself, ‘The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!’” (Lamentations 3:24).

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Prayer: Father God, we praise Your holy name today! Thank You for sending Your son Jesus to give us hope! Help us to remember where our hope comes from every day. Give us the strength and encouragement that only you can give. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
