"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope" (Romans 15:13).
“See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1).
Adoption is the foundation—the heart of the gospel, God’s Good News! We are adopted into God’s royal family, not born into it or able to lay claim to it because of a birthright. No, God CHOSE us—and we have this favored position through His Son, Jesus. Our adoption was made possible only by His grace, not our own efforts or works. When we accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Savior, we also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit—the Counselor, Teacher, and Advocate who intercedes for us. “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God…You received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call Him, ‘Abba, Father.’ For His Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are His children, we are His heirs” (Romans 8:14-17).
Being adopted into God’s family and having a relationship with Him provides peace the world can’t offer. Nothing can separate us from the enduring, unconditional love God has for us (Romans 8:38). Even if you don’t know God, He treasures and loves you! He loved before you were created in your mother’s womb. We know FREEDOM today by accepting Jesus as our personal Savior and experiencing all He has for us!
Guiding Points:
Call to Action: Have you been adopted into the family of God? Read the scriptures and pray with us to accept Christ.
“We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
“He gave all those who received Him and believed Him the right to become children of God. They were born into God’s family by God. That is, they were not born into His family in the way a person is born into this world. It was not by any person’s will” (John 1:11-13).
“God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure” (Ephesians 1:5).
Prayer: Almighty Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, we come to You today in awe of the plans You had for us, even before we were born. We accept the gift of Your salvation, knowing Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We praise You for adopting us into Your family! Help us to walk in the love of the Spirit that You have given us, showing Your love to this lost world. Help us to live in ways that glorify You, shining Your light in all we do. In Your name, we pray, Amen!
Final Thought: God sought, bought, and adopted us with the precious blood of Jesus!
