Aligning with God: The Path to Divine Favor
“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).
In the story of David and Saul, we witness a stark contrast between the lives of the two men. David had divine favor and lived a life aligned with God. On the other hand, Saul ran from God and found himself drowning in envy and fear towards David.
Saul was busy constructing his empire and lost sight of God’s kingdom. When we aren’t satisfied with what God gives us, we begin an endless pursuit of the wrong things. The true path to righteousness involves training our gaze toward what is virtuous and seeking Him first.
David’s success was no coincidence—the Lord was with him. As we move into 2024 and beyond, we can also claim this key to success. Matthew 6:33 profoundly says: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” God’s blessings, passion, and purpose don’t come from talent or possessions. They come from aligning our lives with God.
A Call to Action
God wants to bless you. He yearns to fix all that is broken, take what is dirty, and make it clean. Alignment with God comes when we surrender our lives to Jesus. Give Him your life in this moment and realign your steps with His divine plan. He is calling you home.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
“Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
Prayer
Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness. Help us to align with You and give our hearts to You, seeking Your guidance in all we do. We want to stay in Your word and Your divine will for our lives. In Your name, we pray, Amen.
