Attacks Against Free Speech Ramp Up In Tech Community, Silencing Millions Of Voices

A report published by Hot Air on March 11 detailed how the social media platform X was hit by mass outages, lasting roughly a day, on March 10.

X is the social media platform owned by technology billionaire Elon Musk, the force behind President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The Hot Air article detailed how million of people rely on X as their go-to news feed. It is possibly the only place on the internet to find raw data that is “impossible to get if you rely on Pravda to fill in the blanks.”

“For most of yesterday (March 10), X was down entirely or so slow that it was essentially useless, silencing hundreds of millions of voices and stifling access to any news other than that approved by The Narrative™,” the article explains. Though X was back the following day, aspects on the platform still weren’t working correctly. For example, if you go to other websites and try to see embedded links to X posts, they’ll be blank (at the time of writing).

What Caused This Mass Outage & Ongoing Errors?

These issues are caused by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack. Hot Air defines this as “a fancy way of saying that millions of computers and smart devices that have been infected with malware are being used to overwhelm X’s servers with requests for connections.” (RELATED: Voter ID Laws Look Like The Next Big Target To Infiltrate, Destabilize America’s Elections)

It doesn’t matter how big and flashy your website is, nothing can withstand a powerful enough DDOS attack. “This attack is part of the escalating campaign to punish Elon Musk for helping reform government through DOGE,” argues Hot Air.

Reports suggest the attack could have come from a Palestinian revolutionary group, though signs seem to suggest it came from Ukraine. Then again, attacks on the Internet can set their source location to anywhere, meaning the Ukraine claims basically mean nothing without secondary evidence.

Physical Protests & Attacks

Attacks on Tesla, both the cars and the centers, are on the rise, the article continues. Musk believes George Soros and Linked-In co-founder Reid Hoffman are funding the nationwide “protests” against Tesla, Fox News reported.

“An investigation has found 5 ActBlue-funded groups responsible for Tesla ‘protests’: Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project and Democratic Socialists of America,” Musk wrote on X.

Hoffman denied the allegations in a statement to Fox News Digital: “This is just one more of Elon’s wildly false claims about me. I have never funded any organization or individual for demonstrations at Tesla, or any actions at charging stations or on vehicles.”

“I don’t condone violence. But I’m not surprised that everyday Americans are angry about what Elon is doing. Unlike on Twitter, his actions and statements in the real world have real consequences,” he added. Protestors have rallied outside of Tesla dealerships in Georgia, Oregon, with states such as Colorado also reporting potential violence against the company’s locations.

Millions Of Voices Silenced

X is the only place where people from all walks of life come to share valuable information, the sort of stuff that can save people’s lives.
