Beware Of ‘Prophets’ Acting Like Psychics
A report published in April by the Christian Post detailed how modern “prophets” are acting more like psychics and charging huge fees to Christians across the U.S.
The outlet noted how the Prophet Micah warned that prophets tell fortunes for money” (Micah 3:11 NIV) some 2,700 years ago. And it’s happening today. The CP described how one Zimbabwe-born, Maryland-based preacher who calls himself Prophet Passion Java lives an incredibly lavish lifestyle and charges his followers a reported $555 for a phone call with him.
He also wears designer clothes and drives “high-performance sports cars.” He boasts millions of followers online. His website says that his non-refundable prophecies are done on his schedule, and he only does four calls a week. But he generates some $100,000 in just one year from the calls. Prophecy Of A Private Jet
In a video describing the CP, the preacher said in a January 1 sermon that he sees himself acquiring a private jet in 2024. The CP listed a slew of other “prophets” who ask for a lower payment, but still typically more than $50 per call.
Beware of scammers and scams that specifically target Christians during their time of real need. There is only one direct line to the Lord. And we know that He doesn’t tell us what we want to hear. He shows us what He needs from us. We must be the ones to open our eyes hearts and minds, to see, feel, and hear him in our actions.
Jeremiah 23:21 NIV says, “I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.” (LEARN MORE: Attendees Recite Lord’s Prayer At School Board Meeting After Attempted Censorship)
