Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s former special prosecutor and lover Nathan Wade admitted in October that he had multiple meetings with White House counsel during the prosecution of former President Donald Trump in Georgia, under the Biden-Harris administration.

Wade met with White House counsel on at least two occasions during the probe into Trump’s RICO case, according to a transcript shared by Fox News. The revelation came during an interview with House Judiciary Committee staff in mid-October, led by Chairman Jim Jordan who is investigating the prosecutions of the former president.

Wade did not give any details on the meetings, including whether they were in-person or remote. He acknowledged the existence of invoices and other records suggesting the conversations took place, Fox added.

What Do The Documents Say?

During the interview, Wade was asked about an invoice claiming “travel to Athens; conf with White House counsel, May 23, 2022.” (LEARN MORE: Pastor Says ‘God Is In Control’ Is ‘Cop-Out’, Get Political!)

“So if it says conf with White House counsel, that would mean there was a conf with White House counsel?” investigators asked. Wade said he conferences with the White House counsel, but that the document does not state that the meeting happened in Athens. He also claimed no memory of a meeting recorded as: “Interview with D.C./White House, November 18th, 2022. Eight hours at $250. Cost $2,000,” Fox added.

“And if you billed for it, if you billed 8 hours for interview with D.C./White House, it’s safe to assume that you would have taken part in the interview?” the interviewers then asked. “Yes ma’am,” replied Wade.

Wade’s Statements

Wade’s attorney Andrew Evans told Fox that his client has “no specific memory of those meetings.” He further stated that the invoices don’t clarify whose White House his client met with, and could have been officials from either the Trump or Biden-Harris administrations. “Wade also noted that if he met with current White House employees, it would have been because prosecutors wanted to interview individuals like former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows. The United States Supreme Court case of United States ex rel. Touhy v. Ragen, 340 U.S. 462 (1951), requires that prosecutors confer with government officials before interviewing current or former federal employees,” Evans added. Wade was asked repeatedly about whether, to his knowledge, anyone in the White House (at the time — the Biden-Harris administration) tried to coerce, pressure, or even ask Fulton County’s District Attorney into filing charges against Trump. Wade replied, “no ma’am.”

What Happened In This Case?

Wade withdrew from the Trump lawfare RICO case earlier in 2024 after a judge ruled that Willis must fire him in order to address the “appearance of impropriety.”

“Even if the romantic relationship began after SADA Wade’s initial contract in November 2021, the District Attorney chose to continue supervising and paying Wade while maintaining such a relationship,” the judge wrote at the time, according to Law&Crime. “She further allowed the regular and loose exchange of money between them without any exact or verifiable measure of reconciliation. This lack of a confirmed financial split creates the possibility and appearance that the District Attorney benefited — albeit non-materially — from a contract whose award lay solely within her purview and policing.” (LEARN MORE: Pastors Twice As Likely To Support One Candidate)

The judge also seems to have accused Wade of lying in some of his divorce papers. “Wade’s patently unpersuasive explanation for the inaccurate interrogatories he submitted in his pending divorce indicates a willingness on his part to wrongly conceal his relationship with the District Attorney,” the judge noted. “As the case moves forward, reasonable members of the public could easily be left to wonder whether the financial exchanges have continued resulting in some form of benefit to the District Attorney, or even whether the romantic relationship has resumed.”
