Experts Warn Of China ‘Smokescreen’

Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping met with President Biden at the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in San Francisco, on Wednesday. And experts are concerned.

Experts warned that the President should limit the time he spent with Xi and the CCP and that America should not expect Xi to uphold any of his promises in the coming weeks and months, the Washington Stand reported. Xi apparently wants to smooth things over with Biden, saying “Planet Earth is big enough for the two countries to succeed. And one country’s success is an opportunity for the other.”

Biden called the meeting one “of the most constructive and productive discussions we’ve had.” Xi has apparently agreed to curb the flow of fentanyl into the nation and reached some type of military communications agreement. But experts warned that “under this smokescreen of constructive dialogue” the regime will continue its atrocities around the world.

What Some Experts Say

“This meeting should not be held,” Gatestone Institute fellow Gordon Chang said in November. “It’s not going to result in any advantage for the United States. You know, we’ve been talking to China intensively for three decades. And over that time, China’s behavior has only worsened. And so the question is, is it responsible to continue a policy that has failed for such a long period? What more can Biden actually say to the Chinese that hasn’t been said up to now? So I believe that we should stop talking, impose severe costs for clearly unacceptable behavior, and just tell the Chinese we’re done with it.”

“[O]ne person within the administration [said] the fact that the two are talking is a good thing,” Republican New Jersey Rep. Chris Smith noted. “Please give me a break. I mean, they’re committing genocide right now against the Uyghurs. They’re upping their religious persecution. [T]here’s a new report [that] just came out by Hong Kong Watch about how Hong Kong is getting worse when it comes to religious freedom. And they’re doing it all throughout the country, just crushing Christianity or trying to. … And then, of course, forced abortion, particularly as a genocide tool. … I have a bill that passed to try to stop it. It’s pending in the Senate. [In addition,] tens of thousands of average-age 28-year-olds [are being killed] to get their organs. That’s right out of Nazi Germany. Is Biden going to raise that? Is he going to raise the genocide that’s being perpetrated upon the Uyghurs?”
