"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope" (Romans 15:13).
“I did this so that your faith would trust not in human wisdom, but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:5).
Our country is hungry for someone to rescue us. We’ve reached a low point in history. We are in a time of financial stress, political rivalry is high, government trust is low, and we are experiencing war on many different fronts. We cannot be saved by a man, but ONLY by God through the prayers of His people. Our God can work miracles when it seems like all hope is lost!
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s biblical account lays out the perfect case showing why it is essential to trust GOD and not man. According to the Book of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar made a golden statue that he commanded everyone in the province to worship. He threatened that everyone who didn’t worship it would be thrown into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused because of their faith in God. They told the king, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty” (Daniel 3:17). The king was so furious, he ordered the furnace to be turned up seven times hotter, the men bound, and thrown into it. The flames were so hot they killed the soldiers that threw them in.
Suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up and asked his advisors if they had thrown three men into the furnace. He saw four men unbound and walking around unharmed! The fourth, he said, looked like a God. The king ordered them out. After seeing that not even a hair on their heads was touched, he praised their God. He decreed that if anyone spoke a word against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they would be torn limb from limb and their houses burned down. “There is no other god who can rescue like this” (Daniel 3:29).
We started going backward as a country when we took prayer out of our schools. Then came accepting behavior against God’s design and allowing our media and schools to push a radical agenda on our people. BUT victory is in the name of Jesus Christ! Prayer changes things and can remove the enemy’s grip on our nation. Believers MUST stand up, be faithful in prayer, and spread the gospel in this critical moment.
Guiding Points:
Call to Action: All God’s people need to pray without ceasing right now (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Pray against this corruption and evil in the heavenly realms. We are fighting a spiritual battle, but angels can go to war against powers and principalities on our behalf. Pray for repentance and revival to sweep the land in the name of Jesus.
“In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil” (Ephesians 6:16).
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12).
“For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go” (Psalm 91:11).
Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, we praise You for all You have given us today. We humbly ask You to be with our nation. Help us awaken, repent, and turn back to You. We know that prayer changes things! Please send Your warring angels to fight for us against this world’s principalities and break through any strongholds. Break the chains that bind us. Continue to bring revival to our people! Let that fire burn so bright that it will blind the eyes of all that want it extinguished. Help us to put our trust in You and not in man to save us. We know You are in the miracle business, and we need a miracle right now, Lord! In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
Final Thought: We know the end of the story. God wins!
