Federal Action Against Medicaid Fraud Gains Momentum

In recent months, fraud has been exposed in ways that few have seen in their lifetime, by reporting from young Americans such as Nick Shirley and other concerned voices. As a result of the work done in exposing the fraud, we have found that billions of taxpayer dollars are being stolen through widespread Medicaid fraud schemes, and the White House is cracking down on it swiftly.

Vice President JD Vance recently announced a bold plan to stop this rampant theft. The Trump administration is cracking down on states that allow criminals to steal from programs meant for the truly needy. Our faith calls us to protect the vulnerable, and this starts with ensuring funds reach them.

President Trump has made eliminating government fraud a major priority for his administration. Vice President Vance is leading a powerful task force to target fraudulent healthcare providers across the nation. This team has already blocked massive amounts of money from falling into the wrong hands.

Vance issued a clear ultimatum to all 50 states regarding their anti-fraud efforts. He warned that the federal government would cut funding to states that fail to aggressively prosecute abuse. State leaders must demonstrate they are actively stopping criminals from exploiting the system.

This effort is not about reducing help for those who truly need it. It is about stopping bad actors who use fake businesses to steal from the American people. The American voters must demand justice and integrity at every level of our government.

Exposing Rampant Corruption in Our States

The task force has uncovered shocking levels of deceit in several large states. California recently lost access to $1.3 billion in federal Medicaid reimbursements. Officials found massive abuse hiding within the state’s home health and hospice systems.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, a key leader in this fight, revealed that hundreds of providers were suspended. Investigators believe many of these hospice centers in Los Angeles are entirely fake. Criminals are treating taxpayer funds like an open bank account while state leaders look away.

The contrast between states taking this seriously and those ignoring it is staggering. Vance pointed out that New York issued only nine Medicaid fraud indictments last year. Meanwhile, Indiana issued four times as many indictments despite having a much smaller population.

We must speak truth to power and hold these failing leaders accountable. The Bible teaches us to stand against dishonest scales and deceitful practices. Allowing bad actors to plunder a massive $100 billion program is simply unacceptable.

The Trump administration also issued a nationwide block on new hospice providers. This bold step prevents criminals from easily opening new fake businesses across state lines. Protecting our communities requires this kind of firm and decisive leadership.

This aggressive push against fraud extends well beyond California and New York. The administration previously stopped nearly $260 million from flowing to suspicious programs in Minnesota. These actions protect taxpayers from funding criminal enterprises disguised as medical services.

Stewarding Our Resources and Protecting the Needy

We must recognize that this is a spiritual battle for the soul of our nation. When leaders ignore obvious theft, they fail in their God-given duty to serve the people. We have a responsibility to pray for leaders who will enforce the law with integrity.

The federal government is sending a clear message to governors across the country. They must clean up their Medicaid systems or face severe financial consequences. Taxpayer-funded health programs must belong to Americans first, not to fraudulent scammers.

The Bible is clear in its teachings about money, emphasizing honesty, stewardship, and the dangers of greed. Proverbs 13:11 warns, “Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.” This verse highlights the value of hard work and integrity, urging believers to earn money righteously rather than through deceit or corruption. God entrusts us with resources, and we are called to manage them wisely and in a way that honors Him.

Fraud and deceit are strongly condemned in Scripture, as they not only harm others but also grieve the heart of God. Proverbs 11:1 states, “The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with Him.” This speaks to the importance of fairness and honesty in all financial dealings. Fraud undermines trust and exploits the vulnerable, which goes against God’s desire for justice and uprightness.

Engaging in our political process should be clear, meaningful, and effective—but too often, people feel overlooked or unsure how to make an impact. That’s where we come in.

Million Voices equips citizens with tools that inform, inspire, and activate. Through our MVP Program, we help get voter resources into the hands of people who don’t typically vote—encouraging greater participation where it matters most.

We also offer devotions and opportunities for prayer, connecting faith with action. Through our Write Now Campaign, volunteers send letters to low-propensity voters in key areas, helping inspire them to engage and make their voices heard.
