Floridians Can Run Over Rioters Who Stop Them From Fleeing, Says DeSantis

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis shared a video Thursday in which he informed residents of his state that it is not their fault if they hit a rioter with their car in the process of fleeing.

Picture this: you’re on your way to work, perhaps dropping your kids at school or a playdate, or maybe you’re on your way to the hospital, and your car is suddenly surrounded by people screaming and attacking each other. All you want to do is flee for safety, but these heinous, unhinged criminals want you to suffer today. What do you do?

DeSantis On The Rubin Report: “You have a right to defend yourself in Florida.”

Florida has a policy “that if you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety,” DeSantis explained on The Rubin Report on Thursday. “And so, if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that’s their fault for impinging on you. You don’t have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets. You have a right to defend yourself in Florida.”
