“Never let love and faithfulness leave you; bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man” (Proverbs 3:3–4). Reverend Billy Graham once told a story about the Surgeon General of Portugal. He said he looked down one day and had a piece of paper stuck to his shoe. When he pulled it off, it was part of a Gospel tract. Through that small piece of paper, he accepted Jesus and became an evangelist in Portugal. One person was faithful to God and printed the tract. Another person handed it out. Neither knew how the Word would spread, who would eventually see it, and what lives would be changed as a result. This is part of being faithful to God. We move on God’s calling, in whatever capacity, big or small, and let Him do the rest. When we are faithful, He will use us in ways we never thought possible! Being faithful with the little things (finances, jobs, relationships, etc.) allows God to prepare us for more extraordinary things! Our faithfulness is the Holy Spirit working through us. If we are faithful to God’s word by accepting Jesus into our hearts, He will save us. We trust what God says to be accurate and that He is working everything out for our good, despite what the world around us might say. His faithfulness to us is unconditional! We know that our earthly situations are temporary and are nothing compared to the reward that awaits us in Heaven! Guiding Points: Call to Action: Ask God to help grow your faith. Trust Him with your finances. Make tithing part of your faith journey! Give Him control over your relationships, job situations, etc., and He will guide you down the right path. “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!” (Matthew 25:21). “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23). Prayer: Father God, we praise Your holy name today! Help us continue to trust You with our families and finances, and lead us in the right direction in our service to You. We want to grow in our faith and be used in whatever capacity You have for us. We love You, Lord, and thank You for YOUR faithfulness to us each day! In Your name, we pray, Amen! Final Thought: If we take one bold step toward Christ, the possibilities of what He can do in our lives are endless!
