Focus on the Fruits! PEACE

Sep 20, 2023

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

God desires for us to live with His inner peace—regardless of our personal circumstances or what is happening in the world around us. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we were reconciled back to God. Through the indwelling Holy Spirit, we have the opportunity to live day to day with the most authentic “peace of God, which surpasses all (human) understanding, (guarding our) hearts and (our) minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). Living free from the power of sin and its shame, knowing we have His power within us for our lives now AND with the hope of Heaven to come, contributes to this supernatural peace operating in and through us.

Reading God’s Word and simply communicating with him (prayer) invites Him into our space. Observing nature—His creation—reminds us of His wonderful goodness. Serving others extends His love and light to the world—All of these things lend to experiencing the incredible peace of God, while keeping our faith fresh. Take time to connect with Him. He IS our wonderful PRINCE OF PEACE!

Guiding Points:

Call to Action: What are the ways that God brings YOU peace? Read these scriptures and pray over them, allowing His Word to fill you with His perfect peace.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

“Peace, I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27).

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for sending Jesus! We have peace in our hearts, knowing we have been forgiven and set free from sin. Help us grow in our faith, and may everyone around us recognize Your peace in us, and may it draw them to You. We love You, Lord! In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!

Final Thought: The peace of God is beyond anything we can comprehend. No matter the circumstances, He is with us!
