“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations” (Psalm 100:5).
We can easily praise God when things are going our way. Life is good when jobs are steady, kids are healthy, and our dogs greet us at the door every day after work. It can be more difficult to praise God when we go through hard times, but in those times it is even more important to remember one fundamental truth: God is good all the time. The goodness of God is immeasurable! He is our Heavenly Father, our Counselor, and Friend.
No matter what is happening around us, we know God’s goodness is ever-present. He is a beacon of hope to those who trust Him. “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:8). Whatever we need, God supplies. The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years and He provided for them at every turn. He will provide for us too. “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). In the same way God is good to us, we must be good to others and let His glory shine on those around us.
