GPS: Godly Positioning System

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

When we travel, we use GPS to find our way. It warns us about crashes and obstacles ahead and gives us cautionary alerts to know when to stop, slow down, or make a U- turn. It instructs us what turns to take so we don’t wind up on a dead-end, isolated road. In the same way, God’s Word is the roadmap that gives us reliable direction.

The Bible tells us how to avoid collisions with things intended by the enemy to throw us off track. For instance, in Matthew 6:24, we are shown how the love of money can steer us wrong; “You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.” This is just one example of a common diversion the enemy can use to distract our attention from the best life God has for us. The Apostle Paul encourages us to stop or slow down on our journey, allowing the Holy Spirit to direct us: “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves” (Galatians 5:16). In Acts 3:19, while Peter was preaching in the temple, he told the crowd to make a U-turn by saying, “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” In Matthew 7:13- 14, Jesus described coming to a crossroads, teaching us that if we lose focus on our destination, we can backtrack and find realignment with Christ. He warned that one road leads to death, the other to life: “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” THIS choice is the most critical, as it has eternal implications.

We have all missed or ignored the instructions of the Father at different points in our lives. We’ve taken a wrong turn or missed an exit, because we lost focus or put our desires and will above His. This may have led to a state of disorientation that might have felt like inaccessibility to God. Not so! In times of weakness, it helps us to remember our strength comes from Almighty God, who never loses patience with us! Our view is limited, but God sees all things. He is our merciful compass that leads us back to the path of His will and His salvation!

Guiding Points:

Call to Action: Commit to His Word as your guide. It leads to the abundant life He intends for us—now and in eternity! Take part in the communion sacrament in your home and with other believers. Jesus modeled communion as a powerful reminder of our identity in Him and of all the benefits of His death and resurrection for believers.

Prayer: Father God, we lift Your name on high! You are the Navigator of our lives. We know that we fall short of the glory of God so many times, but You are there to pick us up, dust us off, and put us back on track. We thank You, Lord, for that! In John 6:60, many disciples told Jesus He was teaching about hard things, and they were hesitant about accepting them. Sometimes we need to hear hard truths to put things in perspective. We want to honor You, keep Your commandments, and do Your will. Thank You for this time of reflection, repentance, and hope for things to come! In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!

Final Thought: Choose the path He lays for you. Choose Jesus. Choose life everlasting. His precious, enduring love is waiting.
