Fox was struggling with depression, anxiety, and autism, yet these underlying issues were seemingly ignored in favor of a rush to judgment about her gender identity. Her mother, Claire Deacon, testified that she was pressured into consenting to the surgery through fear tactics. She was told that without the surgery, her daughter would likely commit suicide. True compassion involves walking with young people through their struggles, offering them truth and love, and helping them find their identity in Christ. The Bible tells us that the truth will set us free, and we are finally seeing the truth break through the darkness in our courtrooms. This is a moment for the church to be bold and to offer a better way.

President Donald Trump has also taken steps to restrict these interventions, recognizing the harm they cause to minors. His administration’s actions align with the growing realization that we must put guardrails in place to protect our children. The political and legal landscape is shifting, and we must seize this opportunity to advocate for policies that honor God’s design for the family.

The media has largely been silent on this historic verdict; many major outlets have ignored it, perhaps because it contradicts the narrative they have promoted for years. But we cannot be silent. We must share this story and use our voices to demand change in our laws and our medical institutions.

This $2 million award covers pain and suffering as well as future medical expenses, but no amount of money can restore what was taken. Fox Varian will live with the physical and emotional scars of this decision for the rest of her life. Her courage in coming forward, however, may save countless others from suffering the same fate.

We must also pray for the judges and juries who will hear the upcoming cases, that they would have wisdom and discernment to see the truth.

But prayer must be accompanied by action. We need to support legislation that bans these procedures for minors and protects parental rights. We must demand that our elected officials stand against the pressure of the gender lobby and prioritize the safety of children.
