"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope" (Romans 15:13).
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2
Corinthians 12:9).
We often see the slogan, “You are enough.” It is meant to give people a boost of self- confidence to know they don’t need to pretend to be more than who they are. It most likely comes from a good place but is fundamentally flawed. As humans, we are NOT enough. We may find temporary security in self-affirmations or the attention of those around us. Yet, we cannot “rescue” ourselves and provide the salvation and enduring hope that Jesus offers.
Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross paid a debt we could not pay. He made a way for us to be united with God. HE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH. No one and nothing else could add to what Christ did for us in our salvation. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). He carried our sins and finished the work on the cross alone. “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit” (John 19:30).
What Jesus did was enough to save us and give us eternal life, if we choose to accept him into our hearts, turn from our sins, and follow Him.
Life is better with Jesus! He can supply every need we have. He is the ONLY one who can. He can save, equip, bless, and strengthen us. Our supreme faith in Him means we trust in His sufficiency to sustain us.
Paul said in Ephesians 1:3, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.” He didn’t say only a few blessings or one now and then. He said, “EVERY” spiritual blessing comes from Him! God provided us with more than enough through Jesus Christ, our Lord. “He is the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).
