Let the Peace of Christ Rule
Each of us longs for inner and relational peace. Financial struggles, conflicts at work and homeāeven discontentment regarding the state of our nation, can create anxiety that unsettles our spirits. The Bible instructs us to give these matters to God, allowing Him to intervene with our peace interferences. Take everything to God in prayer! āDonāt worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has doneā (Philippians 4:6).
We can choose what fills our minds, what gives us OR robs us of peace. āWe take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christā (2 Corinthians 10:5). If an unpeaceful thought comes to mind bringing negativity to our mental space, we are instructed to kick it out, saying, āGod, I reject this thought and I replace it with Your thought(s) instead.ā When we refocus and recommit our hearts and minds to Him (and His Word), His peace WILL sustain us. Problems will come, but we can face them without engaging their negativity and allowing them to disrupt our spiritual health.
Your Call to Action
There is no problem too big or too small for God. He cares about the details of our lives and wants to be a part of them. Even the hairs on our heads are all numbered! (Matthew 10:30). Read these scriptures, giving your anxieties to Him, and LET HIM BE GOD over every circumstance.
āI have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the worldā (John 16:33).
āNow may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of youā (2 Thessalonians 3:16).
āPeace, I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraidā (John 14:27).
Prayer
Father God, thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to lay down His life for us. Through Him, You have given us supernatural peace that exceeds what we are able to humanly understand. We invite You into our thoughts to rule and reign, settling any anxiety about our situations. Help us to focus on You and not on the things that distract us. Thank You for being with us today, Lord. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
A Comforting Closure
There is no area of our lives that the peace of Jesus canāt cover!
