A Pew Research study promoted in June 2025 revealed that a majority of Americans support teacher-led prayer in public schools.

A little over half of U.S. adults who responded to the study (52%) said they support allowing teachers in public schools to lead their classrooms in prayer that refers to Jesus Christ, according to Pew. Some 27% said they strongly favor this action, while 26% said they favor it, suggesting that this is a significant want for many Americans.

The survey was conducted within a cohort of 37,000 U.S. adults from every single state, including the District of Columbia. (EXCLUSIVE: Sen. King Explains How Texas Is Bringing Biblical Values Of Our Founding Fathers Back To Schools LEGALLY)

Across 22 states, more adults said they favor teachers leading classes in prayer more than they oppose it. “Support for Christian prayer in schools is particularly high in parts of the South, including Mississippi (81%), Alabama (75%), Arkansas (75%), Louisiana (74%) and South Carolina (71%),” the study authors wrote in their analysis.

Similar Results Across Other States

“Other Southern states, such as Oklahoma, Kentucky and West Virginia, are also among the states with the most support of Christian prayer in schools (67% in each state favor it),” the authors concluded.

“In eight Midwestern states, there is more support than opposition for allowing teacher-led Christian prayers: South Dakota (65%), North Dakota (61%), Indiana (58%), Kansas (58%), Missouri (57%), Nebraska (56%), Ohio (53%) and Michigan (53%).” (EXCLUSIVE: ‘Stand Firm’ Says Sen. States such as Oregon, California, Washington, Vermont, Connecticut and New Hampshire opposed the practice of school prayer.

What About The Other States?

At least 16 states had no statistical difference between them, suggesting that most people do not feel any particular way about the practice of prayer in schools.

“Nationwide, a slightly larger share of Americans say they favor allowing teacher-led prayers referencing God (57%) than favor allowing teacher-led prayers specifically referencing Jesus (52%),” the study noted.

Thankfully, Christians No Longer Have To Be Silent In Politics

A recent ruling by the IRS now allows Churches to endorse political candidates to their congregation. Bringing a Biblical Worldview back to the American cultural norm is definitely a large part of our purpose during our time on Earth.

Your Sunday service doesn’t have to be political, but your day-to-day life outside of His four walls will always be dictated — in large part — by your elected officials. Ignorance of politics is like handing over control of your life to the greediest, most power-hungry serpent in the room. When we Use Our Voice, we bring a more Biblical worldview to our nation.

If every Christian used their voice, America would be the safest, cleanest, most protected country in the world — there is no doubt about it, so what are you waiting for?

Contacting your representatives should be easy, but there are myriad ways they can ignore your messages. That’s where we come in.

Yes, Million Voices helps you with voter guides. Yes, we send letters from YOU directly to your elected officials because it’s the only way to guarantee they’ll listen to you.
