Ohio State Senate voted Wednesday to verse Republican Governor Mike DeWine’s veto of House Bill 68, which sought to protect children from irreversible “transgender” surgeries.

The vote came in 24-8, immediately versing the veto. The bill combined both the Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act (SAFE) and Save Women’s Sports Act, which would ban children’s access to puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries that mutilate a child’s reproductive organs and other tissues, according to the Washington Stand.

Ohio’s House of Representatives overridden DeWine’s veto in early January by a 65 – 27 margin. “Today, Ohio has told an exploitative medical industry that we reject your junk science and will no longer allow you to experiment on our children,” Center for Christian Virtue president Aaron Baer said at the time.

DeWine’s Behavior Post-Hearing

In November, DeWine listened as women harmed by inaction on these bills described the trauma they’ve faced thanks to medical tyranny from Big Pharma. “I would cry upwards of 10 times a day — shocked at what I had been allowed to do to my body in such a vulnerable state … I would lay in bed all day, sitting with the realization that I would never be able to breastfeed children that I didn’t even know I wanted at the time [of] my mastectomy. I didn’t know if those feelings would ever go away. So, I started to make plans to commit suicide,” one woman, who was abused by the medical system as a teen, Morgan Keller told DeWine and others at the time.
