“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10).
Every human being is a unique masterpiece! Just as da Vinci, Michaelangelo, and Rembrandt created brilliant, one-of-a-kind pieces of art, God created each of us with distinctive talents, gifts, and personalities. We are amazing in the sight of God and were made for His glory! “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful” (Psalm 139:14).
We are all masterfully designed in His image and have a unique purpose to fulfill for the Lord. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We are called to live in our God-given identities – sons and daughters of the King.
While we may not always know or understand God’s purpose for our lives, if we are willing, He will open doors to use our talents and gifts for great things. The Prophet Isaiah was forgiven and saved by the Lord. In a vision, he heard the Lord say, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Isaiah responded, “Here I am; send me.” He freely volunteered to be used in service of God. If we seek God’s guidance and have an open heart, He will lead us to opportunities we never thought possible! He created us for such a time as this!
