NOLA.com published a powerful Letter to the Editor Monday explaining why the Supreme Court should uphold a law placing the Ten Commandments in Louisiana public schools. We thought we’d share parts of that letter with you today.

“The U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing a religion or favoring one religion over another.” I submit that the Ten Commandments are not a religion, which is prohibited by the Constitution,” wrote Roger J. LeBlanc.

“The Commandments set out core principles of behavior for individuals and society, conduct which has been adopted by religions for thousands of years. Even the Quran adopts many of the core principles of the 10 Commandments. I do not know of any religion, per se, that believes the Commandments are a religion. They merely enumerate a code of conduct.” (TAKE A POLL: Ten Commandments Bill Signed Into Law; Do You Want Religious Education In Your State?)

The Ten Commandments Are Part Of Western Civilization

For more than 3,000 years, the Ten Commandments have guided the development of Western Civilization. These core truths “shaped moral and legal foundations with prohibitions on core crimes; laws against murder, theft and perjury are found in every legal code,” as well as protecting “the rights of private property and give us a civil understanding of ownership, as well as respect for parents.”

LeBlanc rightfully notes that without the Ten Commandments, the Magna Carta would not exist, nor the Constitution. (RELATED: ‘Separation Of Church And State Is A Lie’: Legal Precedent Collapses Bringing Religious Freedom To US)

Beyond the moral framework the Ten Commandments provides for being a good human, the wording encourages community, trust, and cooperation between our people in a way that no other document ever could — or has throughout history.

Why Ignore 3,000 Years Of History

Many people are going to try and fight to remove the Ten Commandments from classrooms across the country. We cannot let them win, and we don’t have to!

Million Voices is helping restore the 10 Commandments to public school classrooms — starting in Texas and Arkansas, and aiming to reach every state in America.

For decades, these foundational truths were removed from our schools. But thanks to recent Supreme Court rulings, we now have the opportunity — and the responsibility — to bring them back.

In Texas alone, over 11,000 schools are waiting. In Arkansas, more than 1,000 campuses are ready. That’s over 350,000 classrooms where this message can shine — with your help.

🔹 For just $25–$35, you can sponsor an entire school.
🔹 You’ll help place a poster in every classroom.
🔹 You’ll be part of a national movement to reclaim moral clarity and truth.

Let’s start in Texas and Arkansas — and then mobilize across the country.

This movement is gaining traction — and so is the opposition.

Groups like the ACLU and the Freedom From Religion Foundation are suing to keep the 10 Commandments out of schools. They say our kids shouldn’t see “In God We Trust.” They’re working around the clock to stop us from bringing America’s values back to public classrooms.

But we won’t be silenced — and neither should you.

We need more than donors — we need bold voices.

  • Tell your church.
  • Mobilize your community.
  • Raise your voice — and your banner of faith.

This is how a national awakening begins.
