Former President Donald Trump received a major endorsement Tuesday from Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

Cruz announced his endorsement via Fox News, later taking to social media to reiterate his support. “I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President. Now is the time for us to unite to oust Joe Biden and save our country from the Democrats’ destructive agenda,” he told followers, before asking for donations to support Trump’s campaign for the presidency.

Cruz is one of 23 U.S. senators who’ve endorsed Trump for the 2024 presidential nomination. Some believe Cruz waited to throw his support behind the former President until after Iowa’s Monday caucus.

Trump Wins Iowa In Landslide

Iowa and seemingly every news outlet known to Americans were quick to call the state for the former president for the lowest turnout caucus in the last 25 years. Voters ventured out in extremely low temperatures to guarantee Trump’s 30-point win against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who subsequently dropped out of the race. He now appears to be vying for a place within Trump’s campaign, and possible future presidency.
