Teen Wrestler Alleges Assault by Trans Opponent

Kallie Keeler, a 16-year-old wrestler at Rogers High School, says she was sexually assaulted during a match. Her opponent was a biological male who identifies as transgender. This heartbreaking story highlights a growing crisis in schools and sports.

The incident took place on December 6 during a wrestling tournament. Keeler, an experienced athlete, faced an opponent from Emerald Ridge High School in the 190-pound weight class. She entered the match believing she was competing against another female athlete. However, minutes into the bout, Keeler realized something was terribly wrong.

Video footage from the match shows Keeler in visible distress while face down on the mat. She later reported that her opponent forcefully inserted fingers into her private area. Keeler stated she felt violated and confused by the sudden assault. “I didn’t really know what to do or how to handle that situation,” she told reporters.

Desperate to escape the situation, Keeler allowed herself to be pinned to end the match quickly. It was only afterward that she learned the truth about her opponent’s biological sex. A coach from another school informed her that she had been wrestling a biological male. This revelation added a layer of betrayal to an already traumatic experience.

When ideology is placed above the well-being of children, we are failing as a society. Parents must demand transparency and accountability from those entrusted with their children’s care.

The Bible teaches us to protect the vulnerable and seek justice for the oppressed. We cannot remain silent while young girls are put in compromised positions in the name of inclusion. True fairness does not require sacrificing the safety of female athletes. We are called to be a voice for the voiceless and to defend truth in our culture.

A Failure of Leadership and Oversight

The aftermath of the match revealed a shocking lack of action by school officials. Despite Keeler reporting the assault immediately, the school district failed to act promptly. Her parents emailed coaches demanding answers, but they received little support. The coach promised to investigate but allegedly never followed up with the family.

Washington state law requires school employees to report suspected abuse to law enforcement within 48 hours. Yet, the Puyallup School District did not contact the sheriff’s office for nearly two months. This delay is a serious violation of trust and legal responsibility. It was only after media inquiries began that the district finally took the necessary steps.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is now conducting an active criminal investigation into the allegations. This delay raises serious questions about the priorities of the school administration. Are they more concerned with protecting a political narrative than protecting students? Our children deserve leaders who will prioritize their safety above all else.

This incident is not an isolated case within the district. Reports indicate that other female students had previously raised concerns about biological males in their spaces. At least a dozen girls complained about males in their locker rooms, but their voices were ignored. This pattern of dismissal is deeply concerning for parents and community members.

Wrestling experts have reviewed the footage and expressed alarm at what they saw. One coach with decades of experience noted that the contact appeared intentional and unnecessary. He stated that such a move has no place in the sport of wrestling. Expert testimony supports Keeler’s account of the assault.

Our faith compels us to speak the truth in love, even when it is unpopular. We must advocate for policies that respect the differences between men and women. God created us with unique strengths and purposes, and our laws should reflect that reality. Ignoring these differences leads to confusion, injustice, and harm.
