The Majestic, Glorious Splendor of God
“I will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles” (Psalm 145:5).
Consider all the things God has created—every living organism—so complex and intricate. DNA, physics, chemistry, language, human intelligence, the immense diversity of every human, animal, and plant—everything, so diverse, yet all woven together in our sphere of existence on Earth. The infinite power of God is unfathomable to us because of our limited perspective, yet we are humbled with awe, and praise Him for the miraculous work of His hands!
God has made so many wonderful things, yet He cares about each one of us individually; “And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows” (Luke 12:7). “God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins” (1 John 4:9-10). How awesome is that? Even though we play a very small role in this world in the vast scheme of things, we are each incredibly significant in the eyes of God. He loves us and we are His!
Guiding Points:
Call to Action: Reflect on your life from God’s eternal perspective. Imagine the work He wants to do in you and through you to spread the Gospel and reach others for Him. Pray about God’s will and ask for His divine guidance in this area.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands” (Psalm 19:1).
“Father, I want these whom You have given Me to be with Me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave Me because you loved Me even before the world began!” (John 17:24).
“The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty” (Psalm 29:4).
Prayer: Father God, we praise Your holy name! We are amazed at Your creation today. There are so many miracles in it all, great and small, yet You care for and love each of us the most. You proved this by sending Your only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us, to make us right with You. Help us to see ourselves as You see us. Do Your work IN us and THROUGH us and let Your light shine in all we do. We praise You! In the blessed name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
Final Thought: We are God’s masterpiece—invaluable works of art!
