Gen Z: The Path of Hope
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
As revival continues to spread across the United States and worldwide, we are encouraged by the number of young people coming to know the Lord and outwardly expressing their faith! Social media is full of new believers giving their heart-felt testimonies and sharing their remarkable encounters with the Holy Spirit. This is refreshing, especially given that Gen Z has gotten such a bad rap in the news and on social media in recent years. Among other things, Gen Z has been characterized as the generation that no longer has faith in God or a biblical worldview. But WE know different! Our younger generations hunger for something the world cannot offer and are open to learning what God has for them.
As more young believers decide to follow Jesus, we must encourage and support them in their walk with Christ. As they make the courageous choice to separate themselves from our declining culture and follow the path of hope in Jesus, we can speak life into them and encourage the world to see these young believers as the leaders God says they can be. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for all believers, in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity” (1 Tim. 4:12)
Be inspired by the spiritual transformation of our youth! As they flourish and continue to spread the word of God, they are carrying out God’s plan, not only for their own lives, but for generations to come. They will lead us into the future!
Guiding Points:
Call to Action: Do you know young believers who could benefit from your prayers and encouragement? Read these scriptures and pray about how you can offer support on their journey.
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God” (Hebrews 13:16).
Prayer: Father God, we praise your name today! You are our Counselor, Healer, and Friend. We know your heart is that everyone would come to know you. We ask that You be with young people everywhere, as they face cultural pressure to reject what is morally good and to accept immorality. Help them recognize Your voice, rise above earthly turmoil, and follow You. Please help us to be good examples as we mentor, love, and encourage them. Continue to give us opportunities to share Your word with those that need to hear it. In the Mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
Final Thought: Gen Z is poised to make an impact for good in this world. Through the enduring love of Jesus, they will be victorious in their quest to make God known to the world. They have the opportunity to play a positive and valuable role in the spiritual transformation of our country, and nothing can hinder God’s plan to use them if they put God first in their endeavors.
