The Red Letters
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9 NLT)
There is deep meaning in the red letters found within the Bible. They are Jesus’ own words – His gift to His people. Be encouraged! Soak in the red letters that can profoundly impact your life. Imagine Jesus speaking these things to you directly, knowing His words are just for you! They bring us comfort and hope! He longs to know you and have a relationship with you.
Jesus said,
“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, “Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.” In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” (Luke 15:4-7 NLT)
God’s heart is that no one should perish. He wants every last one of us to experience His saving power. There is nothing more humbling than to think of the sacrifices Jesus made to ensure we could all have eternal life.
The words of Jesus in Matthew 10 speak volumes: “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29-31 ESV) God knows all about us, down to the hairs on our head! He knows us better than anyone! Jesus gave His life on the cross and promised eternal life with Him in Heaven. God’s plan for our lives will come to fruition if we give the best of ourselves to Him and let Him guide us on our journey. We are more valuable to Him than anything, so it makes Him happy when we prioritize our time with Him.
Making God the center of our lives and decisions brings blessings beyond measure. If we invite him into our world first thing in the morning, we you can enjoy experiencing His presence and His guidance throughout our entire day. There is nothing that compares to the peace and contentment that comes from spending intimate time with the Lord. He sits waiting for our invitation and has beautiful plans in store for us as we seek His presence.
