Trump To Drop Tax Rate For American Manufacturers

Former President Donald Trump told a September rally in North Carolina that if he wins reelection, he’ll drop the tax rate for companies from 21% to 15% if they manufacture their products in the U.S.

Trump made the statements during his rally in Mint Hill, N.C. on Sept. 25, according to The Epoch Times. “You to make it in America,” Trump told the crowd. “Though the tax rate is going down to 15% if your product is made in America … so I brought the business tax rate from 39% to 21%, the biggest decrease in taxes in the history of our country.” (Use Your Voice to lobby your lawmakers on this issue)

The Trump-era tax decrease was approved by Congress “and we did more business and created more jobs during that period than at any time in country’s history,” the former president noted. “Now, I’m taking it a step further. We’re going to bring the 21% rate, which everyone said we could never get, down to 15%, but only if you manufacture your product here in the U.S.A.”

Trump’s History of Helping The Economy

“I will not cut one cent from Social Security or Medicare. I kept that promise for 4 years, and I will keep it again. And seniors should not pay taxes on Social Security!” Trump said on Truth social following another campaign rally in August 2024. No tax on tips, and no tax on Social Security are two fundamentals of Trump’s potential future presidency, while his campaign and former administration were clear when they said they’re not even considering a carbon tax.

“There has to be some connection between the fee and bad behaviors… We’d have to monitor whether that is passed on to consumers, but I’m gonna tell you that should never be the reason not to actually put a fee, and particularly a carbon fee. So part of my plan is that we will require all elements of industry to actually score and they will be scored based on the carbon imprint that their business creates. And we will score that. So again that industry.. that business and we can all be aware of and measure the impact of their behavior on the environment,” Vice President Kamala Harris told CNN, according to a video shared by Americans for Tax Relief.
