Trump-Vance To Reject Federal Pro-Life Laws

Many news outlets seemed to think former President Donald Trump and his vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance are the wrong candidates to protect Life. But these news outlets are wrong.

An article published Monday by the Washington Stand argued Trump and Vance are walking further away from pro-lifers after Trump published a Truth Friday claiming his administration would be “great for women and their reproductive rights.” The Washington Stand seemed to argue that this means Trump is going to be pro-abortion, but this simply isn’t the case. What Trump is doing is actually kind of genius. He and Vance have both pledged to make abortion a states issue, which basically means he’s going to let YOU, the AMERICAN VOTER, decide on abortion. This should be how most laws in this country are developed and implemented. So stop listening to people who clearly don’t understand the long-term strategy here.

Vance’s Statements

Ensuring that he wouldn’t be labeled a psychopath by half of the women in the U.S. ahead of the 2024 elections, Vance told NBC’s “Meet The Press,” that he would not be imposing a “federal ban on abortion.”

“I think it’s important to step back and say, ‘What has Donald Trump actually said on the abortion question, and how is it different from what Kamala Harris and the Democrats have said?’ Donald Trump wants to end this culture war over this particular topic,” Vance continued. “Donald Trump’s view is that we want the individual states and their individual cultures and their unique political sensibilities to make these decisions, because we don’t want to have a non-stop federal conflict over this issue … I think Donald Trump is right. We want the federal government to focus on these big economic and immigration questions. Let the states figure out their own abortion policies.”
