Former President Donald Trump won the Iowa primary, Monday, in a landslide victory against the other 2024 presidential candidates.
News outlets were incredibly quick to call Iowa for the former president for the lowest-turnout caucus in the last 25 years, according to The Associated Press. Voters ventured out in plummeting temperatures to ensure Trump’s 30-point win against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, and candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
“We want to come together, whether it’s Republican or Democrat or liberal or conservative,” Trump said during his victory speech. “We’re going to come together. It’s going to happen soon.” (LEARN MORE: Georgia Refuses To Update Vulnerable Voting Systems Until After 2024 Election)

Shortly after finishing in 4th place in Iowa, Ramaswamy suspended his 2024 candidacy for president, Fox News reported. After announcing his departure, Ramaswamy threw all of his support behind Trump. “It is true that we did not achieve the surprise that we wanted to deliver tonight,” Ramaswamy said. “As of this moment, we are going to suspend this presidential campaign.” (LEARN MORE: Most GOP 2024 Candidates Would Support Trump If He’s Convicted)
Ramaswamy later said: “Earlier tonight, I called Donald Trump to tell him that I congratulate him on his victory. And now going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency.” Ramaswamy only earned 8% of the vote in Iowa, even though he managed to beat a handful of known lawmakers vying for the position to get to the caucus.
