Unshaken in Christ: Overcoming Worldly Chaos

by | Jan 18, 2024

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Our world is tainted by self-interest and manipulation, where power can be wielded with ill intent, and the sacred words of the Bible can be twisted to falsify and justify wrongdoing. This is worldly corruption and not of God.

Be vigilant and guard your heart against anything that causes you to doubt and lose hope. The enemy uses these things to try to undermine the work God is doing in you. Matthew 7:15 warned us: “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.” But let us remember that God will not be mocked.

We must be unshaken, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He endured the cross and suffered hostility from sinful people so we would not lose heart and give up (Hebrews 12:2-4). Look to HIM and not the chaos of the world around us.

Jesus is the only way, our only truth. He overcame the world! When we cling to Him and put our faith in Him alone, He will stand by us to show us the way.

Your Call to Action

As believers, we must stand for truth and righteousness in the midst of the darkness that surrounds us. Let’s take up the banner of faith and courage and be the salt and light this world desperately needs. Stand firm in His truth, be a vessel for His love, and let our lives be a testament to the redeeming power of Christ.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

“But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:17).

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Prayer

Father God, we praise Your holy name today. Help us to guard our hearts against anything that would negatively influence us and cause us to lose hope. Keep our eyes fixed on You. You are the way, the truth, and the life. We want to follow You all of our days. In Your name, we pray, Amen.

A Comforting Closure

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
