Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are moving forward, with U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Following these meetings, the envoy is expected to meet with Iran’s foreign minister, possibly in Turkey.

The regime anticipated a nationwide uprising and prepared to crush it with force, including internet blackouts and live fire.

These protests, which swept across more than 400 cities, showed the deep dissatisfaction of the Iranian people. They chanted “Death to the dictator,” directly challenging the authority of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The regime’s violent response, which killed thousands, was a desperate act to maintain control.

This internal weakness is a key factor in the current standoff. The Iranian government is trying to project strength to the world while dealing with a population that is increasingly defiant. This creates a volatile situation where any misstep could lead to greater conflict.
