A video made with artificial intelligence went viral on Election Day 2024 (Tuesday) showing predominantly left-wing and progressive media hosts using the term “our bureaucracy” instead of “our democracy.” Social media seemed to love it.

“If the Democrats fail, it might be the end of American bureaucracy.”

“Our bureaucracy really is in fundamental peril.”

“The foundations of American bureaucracy are under attack.”

These are the edited words of largely Democratic-leaning media pundits in the days leading up to the 2024 Election. But for many on social media, they seemed to ring more true than saying “our democracy,” as that is not what much of American life has felt like since January 2021.
